#74 “Self Portrait in Tub with Chinese Food.” Believe it or not, this image is a photo painting (!) by figurative painter Lee Price. My friend Pam turned me on to LP’s artwork and suffice to say, my mind is officially BLOWN.

Ima hafta post a few more of these meticulously detailed, eerie self portraits. Today at school I read up on Lee’s work. It seems she paints herself repeatedly, eating various kinds of junky/comfort foods, always in super private settings like her own bathroom or bed (there’s a bathtub grilled cheese series that I lurv lurv lurv). She typically paints the image from an aerial, bird’s-eye view, which makes everything feel even more off-kilter (peepin’) and unsettling.

I just love being unsettled, don’t u??
